Max Gets a Ticket to Ride

What better way to kick off the new family blog than with a post about a true turning point in our lives -- today we kicked those training wheels to the curb and taught Max to RIDE A BIKE! That's right y'all Max got a ticket to ride today. Let me tell you how it all happened (cue the flashback music): Max has had a scooter for months now. Mark and I have tried like the Dickens (whoever they are) to get him to ride the thing...just test it out...give it a whirl. No dice. Max wanted no parts of it. "Scooters are for Suckas!" He didn't say that. But you get my drift. Fast forward to last weekend, we had about 234 family members stop by for a little visit. No it was fun...really :P Two of the house guests (of course), were Minister Joe and Bishop Carlton. Somehow the two mini-preachers taught Max how to ride his scooter. I don't know how. All I know is, after everyone left and the dust settled, Max was doing wheelies in the driveway. So, Mark says: "Now that you can ride a scooter, surely you can ride a bike with no training wheels." (Mark is clever like that.) Today after work, we 86'd the training wheels and pushed Max off into the sunset. Here's a snapshot, but you'll have to watch the video to see how it all went down. Oh and of course, Marco had to get in on the act, too.
