The Ninja and The Ninja Turtle

Overall it was a pretty decent H'ween, I guess. But here's the thing: Max doesn't like chocolate. And Marco loves chocolate but isn't big on socializing. So the whole going door-to-door thing and exchanging pleasantries for Snicker bars doesn't really work for The Wright Brothers. Oh, don't get me wrong, they loved dressing up -- been wearing those costumes for a week now (thank you, Target)! But by 7:30 they were DONE! Literally exhausted. Max got to wear his costume at school today and the teachers started loading them up on sugar at lunch. After school the neighbor across the street filled his trailer thingy full of hay and gave the kids a hay ride around the 'hood. They stopped at each house and went door to door. The haul was pretty weak, I have to say. Not at all like back in the day when we'd come home with pillow cases full of cavity-inducing yummy goodness. But again, Max doesn't really roll like that so it's cool. Marco, on the other hand, ate 3 chocolate bars before he hit the bathtub, and one in the bathtub (at least I think that was a Snicker bar!).
They came crashing down off that sugar high, and it wasn't pretty. Marco melted down. Max was running around naked. They're asleep now. Thank you, Sweet Jesus. We calmed them down long enough to read a little from their new books from the book fair (Brown Bear, Brown Bear for Marco, and Freak Out! Wild Animals for Max). Now I'm going to bed. Thanks for listening.
